IT distributor since 1994
Back in 1994, our director, Jørgen Pedersen, established DCS ApS in Trige, north of Aarhus, with the simple purpose of buying and selling IT products. A lot has happened since then, but our customers are the same: IT dealers, IT companies and IT departments within companies.
With 25 years of experience in the IT industry, we have extensive knowledge of the market and have built a large network, enabling us to deliver exactly the right product at exactly the right price - with the most dedicated service.
Today, we employ 100 people, who are all involved, in one way or another, in the process from purchasing to selling IT products, and our continuous market adaptation has meant that we have run a healthy, self-financed business since our establishment.
We constantly strive to find ways to do things a little better tomorrow than we did today, and this approach has been a key factor in us becoming one of Denmark's largest privately owned IT companies, one of the largest IT distributors in Denmark, and generating a three-figure million-kroner turnover year after year
- albeit with the help of a few more employees, computers and systems than when we started out.
DCS ApS is founded by our director, Jørgen Pedersen, in Trige, north of Aarhus, with the simple purpose of buying and selling IT and electronics products.
DCS.dk is launched, and the most tangible proof of our digital DNA is expressed as one of the very first webshops in Denmark.
Just four years after our establishment in 1994, we reach our first major milestone with an annual revenue of DKK 100 million.
And in 2008, our revenue passes DKK 200 million.
Up until 2012, dealers and CRN ranked distributors every year across categories such as price, product range, advice and logistics. In 2009, we achieved 3rd place for logistics and delivery reliability.
Logistics remains one of our biggest competitive advantages, and we have since made significant investments in it.
In 2016, we moved from Aarhus N back to Trige, where our new premises offered far better conditions for developing our business. We did this by optimising our warehouse processes and by adding further layers to our product range.
The product range and warehouse profile remain one of our biggest focus areas today.
After developing the platform for more than 3 years, we finally launched our new digital platform and webshop in 2017. In addition to entirely new digital customer capabilities, the new platform brought an expansion of our online product range and digital integrations.
These are some of the same factors that today form the framework for a large part of our trade with customers.
2018 was the year we passed half a billion kroner in revenue.
A large part of this growth was driven by the investment in our digital platform, which we launched back in 2017.
In 2019, we established our current ownership group, consisting of Jørgen Pedersen and Thomas Kirkeby, meaning that DCS ApS remains 100% Danish and privately owned to this day.
In fact, we are now one of Denmark's largest privately owned IT companies, measured by revenue.
As the next, natural step in our development, in 2020 we added a further 1,000 m2 to our warehouse when we implemented our new WMS, which, in addition to increasing capacity, gave us even more opportunities to optimise our logistics.
We did this with a particular focus on minimising the risk of errors in the process from order to receipt of the goods, in order to increase our delivery reliability and quality.
In 2021, we reached yet another milestone for the company, as we passed DKK 1 billion in revenue.
This strong growth was largely founded in our optimised warehouse profile, digital platform and efficient logistics, at a time characterised by product shortages, digitalisation and a challenged global market.
In mid-2022, we took our new premises and automated warehouse into use, which will help lay the foundation for the company's continued development.
The warehouse system takes into account, among other things, an optimised packaging profile, increased focus on CSR and improved delivery security.
With a vision of driving "digital merchantship", we strive to let our values be reflected in the continued development of DCS ApS.
